Mayfield Senior School sophomore Kennedy Taylor went 2-for-5 to help the Cubs beat Polytechnic in an extra-inning Prep League game on Saturday.

The Mayfield Senior varsity softball team edged host Polytechnic, 7-6, in a 10-inning Prep League game on Saturday as freshman Mackenzie Taylor, who had a hit, an RBI and a run, pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts. Sophomore Jaz Johnson went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base for the Cubs while freshman Bridgette Carroll went 3-for-4 with a triple, two steals, two runs and a walk. Sophomore Penelope Pegram went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs while sophomore Kennedy Taylor went 2-for-5 with two runs and a steal. Peyton Pegram tallied a hit and an RBI, junior Madilyn Domingo produced an RBI, and senior Chloe Clawson walked and scored once. The Cubs defeated visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick, 5-1, in a league game last Friday as Mackenzie Taylor, who walked twice, scored once and stole a base, pitched a complete game with six strikeouts. Kennedy Taylor recorded a hit, an RBI, a run and a steal while Madilyn Domingo walked twice and scored once. Carroll walked and scored once, Johnson scored once, and sophomore Penelope Pegram finished with an RBI and a walk. Peyton Pegram walked twice while senior Afton Copeland-Spiegel and sophomore Sophia Page each walked once. Mayfield was shut out at Providence High in Burbank, 9-0, in a league game last Tuesday. Kennedy Taylor went 2-for-3 with a double, Peyton Pegram had a base hit and Carroll walked once. The Cubs recently lost a league game at Flintridge Prep, 7-5. Page slugged a solo home run, Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Peyton Pegram recorded a double. Kennedy Taylor tallied a hit, an RBI and a run, Carroll produced a hit and a run, Penelope Pegram registered a base hit, and Mackenzie Taylor walked and scored once. Mayfield previously edged Polytechnic in a league game, 5-4, as sophomore Jenna Domingo, who walked once, scored a run and stole a base, racked up six strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Peyton Pegram tallied three walks, a hit, an RBI and a steal, Madilyn Domingo and Carroll each recorded a hit, a run and a walk, and Johnson finished with a hit and a run. Page collected two walks and an RBI while Mackenzie Taylor scored once. Kennedy Taylor walked once and stole a base while freshman Mary Elizabeth Ryan and Penelope Pegram each walked once. The fourth-place Cubs (10-8-1 overall, 5-3 in league) will visit Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Muir High in Pasadena on April 21. Mayfield will conclude the regular season next week with a pair of league games against Rio Hondo Prep and Chadwick.

POLYTECHNIC
The Panthers routed visiting Marshall High of Pasadena, 14-1, in a nonleague game last Thursday as freshman Ellery Engstrom, who had a hit, three runs and an RBI, allowed one unearned run on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts. Freshman Eila Chan went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, four RBIs and two runs, freshman Carthan Connelly went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, three runs and a steal, and senior Kiara Engstrom went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sophomore Piper Hart registered a hit, two runs and two steals, freshman Xiya Shively tallied a hit and a run, and freshman Allison Nieves scored three runs and walked once. The Panthers recently lost a league game at Providence High in Burbank, 16-1. Ellery Engstrom finished with a double and a run, sophomore Lyla Pak recorded a hit and a walk, and Chan produced a hit and an RBI. Poly was previously edged at Mayfield Senior, 5-4, in a league game. Connelly had a base hit, Ellery Engstrom scored one and Chan was credited with an RBI. The sixth-place Panthers (3-9 overall, 1-7 in league) will host Westridge School for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Palos Verdes Chadwick on April 25. Poly will conclude the regular season with a home matchup against
Flintridge Prep on April 26.


FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves routed host Westridge School, 17-1, in a Prep League game last Friday. Jaclyn Sim, who recorded a double and an RBI, pitched four hitless innings with one unearned run, two walks and two strikeouts. Reliever Elise Fong, who had a hit, two runs, two walks, an RBI and a steal, pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Mary Sinclair went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs while Emma Carmack went 2-for-2 with three runs and a steal. Sienna Liston registered a hit, two runs, an RBI and a steal, Asta Uziel tallied a hit, two runs, an RBI and a steal, and Olivia Rabadi had a base hit. Presley Nevadomsky finished with two walks, two runs, an RBI and a steal, Sarah Bougdanos walked,
scored a run and added an RBI, and Eliza Gunter recorded a walk, a run, an RBI and a steal. Sarah Rude walked and scored a run, Madison Lin scored once, and Kelsey Lin produced an RBI. Flintridge Prep blanked host Palos Verdes Chadwick, 14-0, in a league game last Wednesday. Fong, who had three walks, two runs and an RBI, allowed one hit and no walks with four strikeouts over three innings to earn the win.

Maranatha blanked host Eldorado High, 23-0, in a nonleague game last Wednesday as Guerrero, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three runs, two RBIs and a walk, amassed 10 strikeouts over four innings with one hit and one walk. Gigi Aleman went 5-for-5 with a triple, a double, five runs and two RBIs while Wolyn went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and a run. Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs while Pevsner and Domingo each went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs. Sophomore Gabby Gill registered a double, an RBI and a run, freshman Anaya Quinonez tallied a hit, two runs and an RBI, and freshman Ellie Thompson scored once. The Minutemen picked up a pair of convincing nonleague wins in a doubleheader last Thursday after defeating host Mountain View Christian in Las Vegas, 16-0 and 21-2. Maranatha was recently shut out at Whittier Christian High in La Habra in an Olympic League game, 10-0, after previously losing to the visiting Heralds, 20-3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook. The fourth-place Minutemen (13-7 overall, 0-5 in league) will play Heritage Christian High of Northridge in a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Montebello for their regular-season finale on April 21.

The Tigers recently earned a 17-10 nonleague victory at Glendale, 17-10, as Hughes was a perfect 6-for-6 with two runs and an RBI. Marysa Ybarra, who went 3-for-5 with a triple, pitched a complete game with four strikeouts while Taylor went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs and a run. Rangel went 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs, a run and a steal, Anguiano went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, two runs, a steal and a walk, and Labrucherie went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs, two steals and an RBI. Ilas went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a run, Soleil Ybarra went 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs, two runs, two walks and a steal, and Dietrick went 2-for-6 with two runs. Meanwhile, Lin-Stevens scored three runs. The Tigers lost to visiting Flintridge Prep, 17-1, in a Prep League game last Friday. Seventh-place Westridge (2-9 overall, 0-6 in league) will visit Polytechnic for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Providence High of Burbank on April 25. The Tigers will conclude the regular season next week with a pair of road league games against Providence and Palos Verdes Chadwick. FSHA Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy have been idle since routing Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles, 30-1, in a Sunshine League game on March 28. The league-leading Tologs (10-3 overall, 2-0 in league) will visit Marymount High in Los Angeles for a league game today at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles on April 22. FSHA will conclude the regular season next week with league matchups against Notre Dame Academy, Harvard-Westlake of Studio City and Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia.


LA SALLE
The Lancers recently lost a nonleague game at Glendale, 8-3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.
La Salle (0-9 overall, 0-6 in league) will visit St. Joseph High of Lakewood for a Del Rey League game today at 3:15 p.m. before visiting the Jesters on April 25. The Lancers will conclude the regular season with a home matchup against St. Monica High of Santa Monica on April 27.
