Local athletes from La Salle College Preparatory, Mayfield Senior and St. Francis High School recently competed at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational. Senior Mia Reid represented the Lancers in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and finished second in her heat (fourth overall) with a 14.63 time, a personal record. Mayfield Senior School senior Sade Falese represented the Cubs in the girls’ long jump and finished seventh in her flight with an 18-05.00 mark. St. Francis sent a pair of athletes to compete in separate events. Junior Luke Metcalf placed 11th in his heat in the boys’ 800 meters with a 1:56.84 time while Clint Geryak was 14th with a 14-01 mark in the boys’ pole vault.
