Westridge Wins Season Opener, 12-11

The Westridge School varsity girls’ lacrosse team edged visiting Hart High of Newhall, 12-11, in its season opener last Tuesday as sophomore Sarah Leizman racked up a team-high six goals.
Junior Maya Calderon scored three goals, freshman Keira Krishnaiah recorded two goals and senior Gabrielle Carre had one goal.
The Tigers lost at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, 14-2, in a nonleague game last Wednesday as Calderon and Leizman each scored a goal.
Westridge (1-1 overall) will visit Norco for a nonleague game today at 6:30 p.m. before hosting Lakewood on Tuesday, Feb. 28.


The Golden Knights recently opened the regular season with a pair of nonleague losses against Santa Margarita High of Rancho Santa Margarita, 17-7, and Palos Verdes, 19-5. Individual statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.
SFHS (0-2 overall) will host Servite High of Anaheim for a nonleague game on Friday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. before hosting Oak Park on Wednesday, March 1.
