Poly Wins Season Opener Over West Covina

The Polytechnic varsity boys’ tennis team defeated visiting West Covina, 11-7, in their season opener last Wednesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.
The Panthers (1-0 overall) will host La Salle College Preparatory for a nonleague match on Friday, Feb. 24, at 3:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights were edged at Mark Keppel High in Alhambra, 10-8, in a nonleague game last Wednesday as the singles players collected all eight of the set wins.
SFHS previously lost a nonleague game at Village Christian High in Sun Valley, 11-7. No. 1 singles Van Stepanian picked up a pair of wins, 6-1, 6-0. While No. 2 Armen Balikyan-Bekian and No. 3 Preston Kim each won a set by a score of 6-0. The No. 1 doubles team of Anthony Baghdassarian and Owen Mann (6-4), the No. 2 team of Nathan Huey and Lucas Bryan (6-2), and the No. 3 tandem of Andrew Tchakmakjian and Logan King (7-5) each won a set.
The Golden Knights will visit Damien High in La Verne for a nonleague matchup today at 3:15 p.m. before visiting Flintridge Prep on Friday, Feb. 24, at 3:30 p.m.

MARANATHA

The Minutemen will host New Roads High of Santa Monica in their season opener today at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Azusa for a nonleague matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves will visit Alhambra for their season opener today at 3:15 p.m. before visiting Burroughs High in Burbank for a nonleague matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

LA SALLE

The Lancers will visit Polytechnic for their season opener on Friday, Feb. 24, at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Arcadia for a nonleague matchup on Wednesday, March 1.
