Maranatha, Polytechnic Collect Early-Season Victories

The Maranatha High School varsity boys’ soccer team blanked host North Valley Military Institute in Sun Valley, 2-0, in a nonleague game last Tuesday.
Senior Jay Lee registered a goal and an assist, while freshman Luca Youssefian opened the scoring in the 26th minute.
The Minutemen were shut out at Mark Keppel High in Alhambra, 1-0, in a nonleague game on Nov. 17.
Maranatha previously opened the regular season by routing visiting Pacifica Christian High of Santa Monica, 6-1. Lee and senior Jacob Brantingham each recorded one goal and one assist, while senior Jaden Branaird, junior Daniel Imasdounian, sophomore Aren Tatevossian and Youssefian each scored once.
Maranatha (2-1 overall) will visit Westlake High in Westlake Village on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.

POLY

The Panthers dominated visiting Rosemead, 6-1, in their nonleague season opener.
Senior James Gomez and junior Desi Rhone each scored a pair of goals, while juniors Parker Gooden and Pierre Vincent each registered one goal.
Poly (1-0 overall) will visit Glendale for a nonleague matchup on Friday, Dec. 2, at 3:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves opened the regular season at La Salle College Preparatory on Tuesday; the result will be included in the next Outlook.
Flintridge Prep will host Marshall High in a nonleague game on Friday, Dec. 2, at 3:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights opened the regular season by hosting Flintridge Prep of La Cañada Flintridge in a nonleague game on Wednesday; the result will be included in the upcoming issue.
SFHS will visit Santa Barbara for a nonleague game on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 4:30 p.m.

LA SALLE
The Lancers will open the regular season by hosting Flintridge Prep of La Cañada in a nonleague matchup on Tuesday; the results were too late for this week’s press deadline and will be included in the next issue.
La Salle will battle La Cañada in the Burroughs High tournament opener in Burbank on Friday, Dec. 2, at 3:30 p.m.
