The Westridge School varsity girls’ lacrosse team opened the season on a five-game slide after recently falling at Culver City, 12-3, in a Prep League game last Thursday.
Elena Ruiz, Gabrielle Carre and Theadora Hohmann each recorded one goal, while Sarah Leizman tallied one assist. It has been a challenging stretch, but head coach Emily Mukai said the team is building from scratch, and the Tigers faced formidable opposition.

The Tigers lost a nonleague game to visiting La Cañada, 19-7, on Feb. 25, at Leizman collected a season-high five goals. Carre and Jacqueline Pearce each registered one goal.
The Tigers (0-5 overall, 0-2 in league) are scheduled to visit Palos Verdes Chadwick on Tuesday, March 15, at 3:30 p.m.
