Polytechnic Boys, Mayfield Girls Win League

The Mayfield Senior, Polytechnic, Flintridge Prep, Westridge and Maranatha high schools varsity boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams recently competed in the Prep League finals on Poly’s campus. The Mayfield girls’ team won its third consecutive league title with 376 points. Flintridge Prep was the runner-up with 292 points, Poly placed third with 207 points, Maranatha was fourth with 139 points and Westridge was fifth with 139 points. Meanwhile, the Panthers won the boys’ league title with 359 points while Flintridge Prep (287) and Maranatha (173) finished second and third, respectively.


MAYFIELD
The relay team of Kate Georgino, Sophia Georgino, Holly Gmelich and Ella Yoon won the girls’ 200- yard medley with a 1:51.56 time. The relay team of Sophia Georgino, Ella Yoon, Kate Georgino and Gmelich was the 200 free runner- up with a 1:42.98 mark. The relay team of Olivia Laguna, Zoe Chiu, Rachael Yoon and Marcella Laguna placed second in the 400 free with a 4:01.57 time. Gmelich was the 200 free runner- up with a 1:55.76 mark, Olivia Laguna (2:08.09) finished fifth, Alex Garcia (2:15.52) placed seventh and Brianna Choi (2:17.57) was ninth. Kate Georgino was the 100 fly runner-up with a 1:02.60 mark, Marcella Laguna (1:04.62) placed fifth, and Garcia (1:07.38) and Sophie Limongelli (1:16.23) were seventh and 10th, respectively. Gmelich was the 500 free runner-up with a 5:15.86 time, Olivia Laguna (5:45.61) took fifth, and Margaux Berger (6:05.02) and Maggie Murphy (6:21.29) took eighth and ninth, respectively. Sophia Georgino was the 100 breast runner-up with a 1:07.03 time, Marcella Laguna (1:13.19) took third, and Ava Kook (1:21.98) and Berger (1:22.71) finished ninth and 10th, respectively. Morgan Burns (461.45) and Ann Tanaka (352.60) took third and fourth, respectively, in the 1-meter dive. Kate Georgino (third, 1:01.74), Holly Hillman (fourth, 1:05.96), Bella Villavicencio (fifth, 1:07.91) and Choi (seventh, 1:11.75) each finished within the top 10 in the 100 back. Ella Yoon (57.59) finished third in the 100 free while Chiu (fifth, 1:0026), Rachael Yoon (sixth, 1:00.98) and Hillman (seventh, 1:01.32) each finished within the top 10. Ella Yoon claimed third in the 50 free with a 26.38 mark while Rachael Yoon (sixth, 27.68), Chiu (seventh, 27.39) and Murphy (eighth, 27.82) each finished inside the top 10. Sophia Georgino finished as the 200 IM runner-up with a 2:07.52 mark while Villavicencio (fifth, 2:32.89) and Kook (ninth, 2:47.60) each finished within the top 10.

POLYTECHNIC
The relay team of Brandon Shin, Patrick Seo, Justin Lee and Peter Ryan won the boys’ 200-yard medley with a 1:44.50 time. The relay team of Michael Munder, Oliver Mann, Shin and Nathan Tu won the boys’ 400 free with a 3:13.47 time. The relay team of Munder, Tu, Seo and Mann won the boys’ 200 free with a 1:28.42 mark. Tu won the boys’ 200 IM with a 2:02.26 time, Shin placed third with a 2:05.31 time, and Ryan (2:16.61) and Akhil Venuturupalli (2:34.25) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Lee won the boys’ 100 fly with a 54.12 time while Tu (54.14) and Seo (58.09) placed second and third, respectively. Seo won the boys’ 100 breast with a 1:03.61 time while Ennio Sim (1:18.51) was fifth. Julia Pisano won the girls’ 50 free with a 24.36 time while Alix Fournier- Facori (27.00) took fourth. Pisano also won the girls’ 100 free with a 52.68 mark while Georgia Collister (1:06.24) was 11th. Mann finished as the boys’ 200 free runner- up with a 1:48.03 mark while Rowan Cahill (2:08.16) placed seventh. Munder was the boys’ 50 free runner-up with a 21.14 time, Lee placed fourth with a 23.26 time, and Roy Otamura (24.56) and Jesse Benitez finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Munder was the boys’ 100 free runner-up with a 46.22 mark, Mann took fourth with a 49.73 time, and Otamura (55.04) and Cahill (57.92) finished seventh and ninth, respectively. The relay team of Madeleine Hays, Pisano, Mikayla Chan and Fournier-Facori placed third in the girls’ 200 medley with a 1:58.84 time. The relay team of Fournier- Facori, Kamryn Chan, Mikayla Chan and Pisano took third in the girls’ 200 free with a 1:46.43 mark. The relay team of Hays, Collister, Kaylin Yagura and Kamryn Chan finished third in the girls’ 400 free with a 4:20.74 time. Mikayla Chan took third in the girls’ 100 fly with a 1:02.56 mark while Kamryn Chan (1:07.23) was sixth. Shin (57.26) took third in the boys’ 100 back while Venuturupalli
(1:04.52) and Benitez (1:05.61) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Ryan took fourth in the boys’ 500 free with a 5:32.48 mark while Sim (7:00.50) and Aikam Singh (8:02.06) took seventh and eighth, respectively. Mikayla Chan finished fourth in the girls’ 200 IM with a 2:18.86 time while Yagura was seventh with a 2:44.79 mark. Kamryn Chan (1:17.06) and Fournier-Facori (1:19.63) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the girls’ 100 breast. Hays (1:09.31) and Yagura (1:15.45) placed sixth and ninth, respectively, in the girls’ 100 back. Evelyn Younger (281.80) placed fifth in the girls’ 1-meter dive, Hays (5:52.82) placed seventh in the girls’ 500 free and Collister (2:24.28) was 11th in the girls’ 200 free.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
Natalie Walklett won the girls’ 200-yard freestyle with a 1:54.25 mark, Charlotte Fishman (1:58.58) placed third and Isabella Bonaccorso (2:10.65) was sixth. Addie Gish won the girls’ 200 IM with a 2:03.62 time, Megan Lee took third with a 2:11.58 mark and Peyton Hemann was 11th with a 2:56.19 time. Fishman won the girls’ 100 fly with a 59.37 mark while Dylan Docter (1:02.60) was fourth. Gish won the girls’ 500 free with a 4:53.46 mark while Lee (5:18.41) and Bonaccorso (5:54.59) finished third and sixth, respectively. Sarah Iturbe won the girls’ 100 back with a 1:00.48 time, Docter (1:01.59) was second, and Natalie Mc- Mullin (1:13.36) and Hailey Neuter (1:16.26) placed eighth and 10th, respectively. Walklett (1:06.30) won the girls’ 100 breast with a 1:06.30 time while Hemann (1:26.12) was 12th. The relay team of Gish, Iturbe, Lee and Walklett won the girls’ 400 free with a 3:35.78 mark. The relay team of Gish, Fishman, Lee and Walklett won the girls’ 200 free with a 1:39.32 time. Athan Boutakidis won the boys’ 50 free with a 20.41 time, Aidan Grimm placed fifth with a 23.58 mark, and Aram Kedeshian (25.47) and Carter Morrell (26.06) were eighth and ninth, respectively. Athan Boutakidis won the boys’ 100 free with a 45.94 time, Grimm was sixth with a 51.63 time, and Kedeshian (57.03) and Nick Boutakidis (1:00.23) were eighth and 10th, respectively. Isaac Jung was the boys’ 500 free runner- up with a 5:09.97 time, Ridley Tolleson (5:26.29) was third, and Elliott Oakes (5:35.03) and Morrell (5:41.29) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. The relay team of Grimm, Jung, Kai Timbadia and Athan Boutakidis finished second in the boys’ 400 free with a 3:19.57. The relay team of Grimm, Timbadia, Tolleson and Athan Boutakidis was the runner-up in the boys’ 200 free with a 1:29.73 time. The relay team of Iturbe, Bonaccorso, Fishman and Docter was the girls’ 200 medley runner-up with a 1:57.91 time. The relay team of Nick Boutakidis, Oakes, Carter Sakai and Tolleson finished third in the boys’ 200 medley with a 1:58.21 mark. Iturbe was the girls’ 100 free runner-up with a 54.53 mark while Dahlia Kamine (1:06.29) was 12th. Oakes (1:13.72) placed third in the boys’ 100 breast while Corbin Paxton (1:28.65) was eighth. Jung placed third in the boys’ 200 free with a 1:51.10 time while Tolleson (fifth, 1:57.71) and Timbadia (sixth, 1:58.54) finished inside the top 10. Timbadia placed fourth in the boys’ 100 back with a 1:01.85 time while Nick Boutakidis (1:14.22) finished seventh. Sakai (1:06.40) and David Yu (1:13.54) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the boys’ 100 fly. Sakai (eighth, 2:27.40), Yu (ninth, 2:33.68) and Paxton (10th, 2:42.24) each placed among the top 10 in the boys’ 200 IM.

MARANATHA
Ephraim Choi won the boys’ 500-yard free with a 4:49.01 mark, a 9.59-second improvement from the prelim round and nearly 20 seconds faster than the runner-up. Choi also won the boys’ 100 back with a 53.49 time, Elijah Redson was the runner-up with a 54.14 mark and Yinming Wang (1:18.14) placed eighth. Armina Li won the girls’ 1-meter dive with a 498.85 score, Chloe Wong was the runner-up with a 489.30 score, and Seoyoon Kim (269.75) and Iris Wu (178.95) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. The relay team of Elijah Redson, Jonas Heinstedt, Choi and Max Amendolara finished as the boys’ 200 medley runner-up with a 1:48.75 time. The relay team of Elijah Redson, Amendolara, Jonas Heinstedt and Choi placed third in the boys’ 400 free with a 3:40.47 mark. Makiah Redson finished as the girls’ 50 free runner-up with a 25.60 mark. Elijah Redson was the boys’ 200 IM runner-up with a 2:04.39 mark while Jonas Heinstedt (2:26.85) was seventh. Jonas Heinstedt (1:16.73) finished fourth in the boys’ 100 breast, Harrison Tang (1:29.40) was ninth, and Noah Gutierrez (1:32.87) and Harout Mitilian (1:34.03) placed 10th and 11th, respectively. Vanessa Kragelund took fourth in the girls’ 100 free with a 59.09 mark while Hadley Cruz (1:06.11) was 10th. The relay team of Nathan Vipapan, Wang, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Mitilian finished fourth in the boys’ 200 free with a 2:01.24 time. The relay team of Makiah Redson, Kragelund, Annika Heinstedt and Cruz finished fourth in the girls’ 200 free with a 1:51.60 time. The relay team of Kragelund, Annika Heinstedt, Makiah Redson and Cruz finished fifth in the girls’ 200 medley with a
2:12.33 mark. The relay team of Cruz, Annika Heinstedt, Ashley Stoneburner and Kate Chaisson placed sixth in the girls’ 400 free with a 5:14.91 time. Amendolara (2:13.45) and Gutierrez (2:36.73) placed eighth and 12th, respectively, in the boys’ 200 free. Kragelund took eighth in the girls’ 200 free with a 2:17.47 time. Bella Youssefian was 11th in the girls’ 100 fly with a 1:54.23 mark, Vipapan (27.90) and Wang (29.11) were 11th and 12th, respectively, in the boys’ 50 free, and Amendolara was 11th in the boys’ 100 free with a 1:00.41 time.

WESTRIDGE
The relay team of Aliena Sun, Sloan Criddle, Devanie Alviter and Margaret Northrop finished fourth in the girls’ 200- yard medley with a 2:11.03 time. The relay team of Cyana Lee, Criddle, Irene Awori and Daria Hajimiri placed fourth in the 400 free with a 4:43.03 time. The relay team of Hajimiri, Northrop, Alviter and Sun took fifth in the 200 free with a 1:54.93 mark. Sun finished fourth in the 100 breast with a 1:16.16 time while Hajimiri (1:21.89) and Criddle (1:25.16) took eighth and 11th, respectively. Sun took fifth in the 50 free with a 27.13 time while Alviter (28.31) was 10th. Alviter was ninth in the 100 free with a 1:03.45 time while Northrop (6:29.82) and Josephine Wong (7:27.75) finished 10th and 12th, respectively, in the 500 free. Northrop placed 10th in the 200 free with a 2:21.39 mark while Lee was 12th in the 100 back with a 1:23.94 time.
