The Pasadena Playhouse and the Pasadena Unified School District recently collaborated on a student designed and performed production of “Into the Woods,” which is based off James Lapine’s book of the same title.
More than 200 PUSD students and staff members from Pasadena High School, John Muir High School, Blair High School and Marshall Fundamental, alongside theater professionals, worked together on this special project. The director was Fran de Leon, and music and lyrics were by Stephen Sondheim.
The six-month labor of love culminated with three performances at Pasadena Civic Auditorium in the last week of January, two of which had a student-only audience and the third being open to the community.
