Pasadena Community Foundation Honors Local Heroes

The Pasadena Community Foundation recently held its 23rd annual Local Heroes Breakfast at the University Club.
The event recognized local nonprofit organizations in several different categories, including transition-age foster youth, health and wellness, arts and culture, building community, seniors, rebuilding lives, affordable housing and animal welfare.
Nonprofits which were spotlighted included Coffee With a Cause, Pasadena Conservatory of Music and Heritage Housing Partners.
Former Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard also offered a heartwarming tribute to late Pasadena City Councilman John J. Kennedy.
The morning’s other speakers were PCF Executive Director Jennifer DeVoll, Priscilla Gamb, Scott Christopher, Gloria Pitzer, Margaret Mgrublian, Maggie Sabbag, Sonia Singla, Phyllis Crandon, Greta Mandell, Jeannine Bogaard, Scott Nesbit, Sandra Ell, Uma Shrivastava and Dave Berginger.
The event’s main sponsor was East West Bank. Breakfast sponsors included the Eleven Twenty Seven Foundation, Floe Financial Partners, GGA, Harrington Group, Merrill/Bank of America, Mijares Mexican Restaurant and Wells Fargo Advisors.
