Harambee Block Party Celebrates 40 Years

First published in the July 28 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

For the past 40 years, Harambee Ministries, with the help of dedicated staff and volunteers, have provided education, support and leadership for families in northwest Pasadena. Harambee seeks to nurture and equip indigenous leaders who will impact local neighborhoods.
On Saturday, Aug. 27, Harambee will celebrate 40 years of ministry by hosting a Family Reunion Block Party filled with an afternoon of entertainment, games and activities from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Harambee Ministries, 1609 Navarro Ave. in Pasadena.
Harambee will also recognize 40 honorees who have significantly contributed to its legacy and have made a difference in the lives of its neighbors.
This is a phenomenal opportunity to network with the community and nonprofit organizations while listening to live music, playing games and eating a variety of ethnic foods. Vendors can register for a table to give information on their program, and/or sell their wares. For information, email event organizer Bonita Bennet at info@theboandarrowgroup.org.
