The Pasadena Pops summer concert series recently kicked off with its “Sway with Me: Latin Rhythm and Swing” show at the Arboretum.
The POPS season opener, led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein, explored the interchange between American and Latin sound throughout the years.
Songs such as “Brazil,” “Sway,” “I Love Lucy” and “Girl from Ipanema,” which were made famous by musicians including Carmen Miranda, Desi Arnaz and Pink Martini, were performed in symphonic sound by Pasadena’s premier orchestra.
