Westridge Beats Lakewood; St. Francis Wins Once

The Westridge School varsity girls’ lacrosse team picked up a 19-7 nonleague victory at Lakewood last Wednesday.
Freshman Sarah Leizman led the Tigers with a season-high seven goals while senior Jacqueline Pearce added five goals. Senior Frances Jane Barar and sophomore Gabrielle Carre each registered a pair of goals, while freshman Tanvi Chawla scored a goal on a crease roll. Freshmen Ari Epstein and Theadora Hohmann each scored one goal.
The Tigers narrowly lost a Prep League contest to visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick, 10-8, on last Tuesday. Individual statistics were unavailable by the Pasadena Outlook’s press deadline.
Westridge previously defeated visiting Beverly Hills, 8-5, in a nonleague game on Wednesday, April 6. Pearce and Leizman each tallied a hat trick.
The Tigers (3-7 overall record, 1-2 in league) will host Village Christian High of Sun Valley in a league game on Friday, April 22, at 3:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights were edged by visiting Mira Costa High of Manhattan Beach, 11-10, in a nonleague game last Thursday. Junior Cole Jackson led SFHS with six goals, junior Andrew Giesler added a pair of goals, junior Jett McCullough registered a goal and an assist, and junior Jojo Ferguson scored one goal.
Visiting St. Francis lost a nonleague game at St. Margaret’s High of San Juan Capistrano, 16-3, last Tuesday.
The Golden Knights collected a 15-10 victory in the Mission League tournament consolation championship game over Crespi High of Encino recently. Ferguson led with four goals and two assists, freshman Axel Gonzalez posted three goals and three assists, and McCullough added a hat trick. Senior Myles Shannon scored twice, seniors Dylan Bell and Josh Jewell each registered one goal, and Giesler had one goal and one assist.
St. Francis was downed by Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City, 12-9, in a Mission League tournament game on Tuesday, April 5, as Jackson led with five goals. McCullough produced one goal and one assist, while Shannon, junior Landon Segal and Giesler each scored one goal.
The Golden Knights (8-9 overall, 4-2 in league) will visit Oak Park in a nonleague contest on Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m.
