International Day at the Gooden School is a beloved tradition, a special day dedicated to celebrating the cultural differences and diverse backgrounds of the Gooden community.
To kick off this year’s event, families brought a favorite dish to share. After lunch, students played a variety of international games, including marbles, statues, pass the parcel and frog friendship. All these games are played in other countries and are fun for all ages.
To honor India’s Republic Day, members of the Student Council took turns sharing presentations of India’s past and present traditions. The highlight of the day was watching and learning Indian dance moves from a dance troupe from Shingari’s School of Rhythm. The troupe performs at schools and other events to promote Indian dance and culture. International Day was co- chaired by Erin Hayter Smith and Angela Post.
