Every year in the fall, Westridge School holds its Yam Festival, where students and their parents try out recipes that include yams and then offer tastes of the dishes at booths set up during lunchtime. This year, there was a bounty of yam-inspired foods being offered, including yam fries, latkes, hash, soup, donuts, waffles, sandwiches, pie, salad, enchiladas, scones, muffins, cakes, cake pops, cookies, kugel, pizza, cupcakes, stew, biscuits, chowder and stuffing.
