Cancer Support Community Greater San Gabriel Valley, formerly Cancer Support Community Pasadena, is nearing completion of the renovation of its new facility in Sierra Madre. “It won’t be long now,” said CSCP Executive Director Patricia Ostiller. “Our beautiful new support group rooms and inviting community room with adjacent kitchen are just about complete. Floor to-ceiling mirrors are going up in our exercise room, and our staff offices are freshly painted and carpeted.” Brad Talt, CSCP board president, added: “Our construction team at Reaume Richardson, led by Bryson Reaume, not only kept to our timeline but also kept costs in check. Everyone there appreciated our nonprofit status and did all they could — as did their subcontractors — to help us come in on budget.
It’s hard to find such a quality company with experienced personnel — glad we hired them.” CSC intends to move to its new location at the end of June. “We’ll get set up and then open our doors on Monday, July 10,” said Alison Wong, program and clinical director. “During the interim, we’ll continue with all of our free programs virtually.” CSC served a record 1,045 people last year. The new location provides more space for the organization’s programs, and its new name also describes the vast region it serves. In 2022, CSCP launched a capital campaign, “Be the Key,” to fund the purchase, renovation and maintenance of its new facility.
