Local Schools Represented at CIF Finals

The Mayfield Senior, Polytechnic, Flintridge Prep, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Maranatha, La Salle and St. Francis high schools recently
competed in the CIF-Southern Section swimming divisional finals.

MAYFIELD
The Cubs recently competed in the Division II finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. Sophia Georgino (2:09.20) was 12th in the girls’ 200 individual medley while also finishing 14th in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:07.85 time. The relay team of Kate Georgino, Sophia Georgino, Holly Gmelich and Ella Yoon placed 15th in the girls’ 200 medley with a 1:53.16 time. The relay team of Holly Gmelich, Kate Georgino, Ella Yoon and Sophia Georgino finished 15th in the girls’ 400 freestyle with a 3:44.59 time. Holly Gmelich placed 12th in the girls’ 500 free with a 5:13.36 time while also taking 18th in the 200 free with a 2:00.51 time.

POLY
The Panthers recently competed in the Division II and III finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. Michael Munder finished sixth in the boys’ 50 freestyle with a 21:38 time while also taking 10th in the 100 free with a 47.21 time. The boys’ relay team of Oliver Mann, Nathan Tu, Brandon Shin and Munder placed seventh in the 200 free with a 1:28.86 time. The boys’ 400 free relay team of Munder, Mann, Shin and Tu finished ninth with a 3:15.41 time. Julia Pisano finished third in the girls’ 100 freestyle with a 52.68 time while also placing fourth in the 200 free with a 1:54.81 time. The girls’ relay team of Mikayla Chan, Alix Fournier- Facori, Kamryn Chan and Pisano finished fourth in the girls’ 200 free with a 1:43.74 time. The relay team of Fournier-Facori, Madeleine Hays, Kamryn Chan and Pisano placed 13th in the girls’ 400 free with a 3:50.47 time. The girls’ relay team of Hays, Kamryn Chan, Mikayla Chan and Fournier-Facori was 14th in the girls’ 200 medley with a 1:59.80 time. Mikayla Chan was 17th in the girls’ 200 individual medley with a 2:19.94 time while also taking 18th in the 100 butterfly with a 1:02.95 time.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves recently competed in the Division II and III finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. The girls’ relay team of Addie Gish, Charlotte Fishman, Megan Lee and Natalie Walklett won the 200 freestyle with a 1:35.69 time. The girls’ 400 free relay team of Gish, Lee, Sarah Iturbe and Walklett won with a 3:31.81 time. Gish won the girls’ 100 backstroke with a 54.99 time while also placing second in the girls’ 200 free with a 1:48.51 time. Walklett won the girls’ 200 individual medley with a 2:02.69 time while also taking second in the girls’ 100 breaststroke with a 1:03.19 time. Fishman placed 11th in the girls’ 100 butterfly with a 58.34 time while also taking 15th in the girls’ 200 free with a 1:57.69 time. Lee (2:11.03) was 14th in the girls’ 200 IM while also taking 16th in the 500 free with a 5:18.23 time. Iturbe (54.54) was 14th in the girls’ 100 free. Athan Boutakidis won the boys’ 50 free with a 20.65 time while also placing fourth in the 100 free with a 46.72 time. The boys’ relay team of Aidan Grimm, Kai Timbadia, Ridley Tolleson and Boutakidis finished fifth in the 200 free with a 1:30.23 time. The boys’ relay team of Grimm, Isaac Jung, Tolleson and Boutakidis took sixth in the 400 free.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs recently competed in the Division III finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. The girls’ relay team of Kaitlyn Beltz, Grace Anich, Guinevere Andrews and Reese Artura finished 15th in the 200 medley with a 1:59.86 time while also taking 17th in the 200 freestyle with a 1:46.97 time. Andrews was 16th in the 100 backstroke with a 1:04.26 time.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights recently competed in the Division II finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. Nathan Kim won the boys’ 200 freestyle with a 1:37.12 time while also winning the 100 free with a 44.59 time. The relay team of Kim, Owen Bollert, Donovan Esquivel and Jason Alietti finished 12th in the 200 free with a 1:29.31 time.

MARANATHA
The Minutemen recently competed in the Division III finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. Ephraim Choi finished fourth in the boys’ 100 backstroke with a 53.33 time while also placing sixth in the 500 freestyle with a 4:49.29 time. Elijah Redson was fifth in the boys’ 100 back with a 54.20 time while also finishing ninth in the 200 individual medley with a 2:04.06 time.

LA SALLE
The Lancers were represented by Candice Cheung in the Division III finals at the Riverside Aquatic Complex. She finished fourth in the girls’ 50 freestyle with a 24.99 time while also placing sixth in the 100 free with a 54.05 time.
