Pasadena Southwest Little League opening day welcomed hundreds of players, coaches, family members and friends at Allendale Park in Pasadena on Saturday.
Mayor Victor Gordo and former PSWLL President Matthew Alexander each threw out a first pitch.
The PSWLL mission is to provide a positive youth sports experience for every child regardless of ability.
Players aged 5-14 years participate in the league, which operates baseball and softball programs for boys and girls and is funded through player registration fees, donations and sponsorships.
Nick Smith is serving as the league’s president this season.
