Oboe Foundation Supports Music Education at Sierra Madre Middle School

First published in the Dec. 15 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The Oboe Foundation recently presented a check for $2,500 to the Sierra Madre Middle School instrumental music program.
The music director, Chad Prado, received the check in the auditorium with students, parents and teachers in attendance.
There has been a big commitment by the Pasadena Unified School District to bring instrumental music to its students. However, there are not enough instruments to meet the demand. With help from the Oboe Foundation, student musicians at Sierra Madre Middle School will benefit. This check will be used to purchase badly needed instruments for the students.
The Oboe Foundation is a 501(c)3 that provides support to instrumental music programs in local schools, focusing on instructional and developmental opportunities for students through strategic partnerships, community association and educational outreach. The foundation is working with community and industry leaders to provide every opportunity for students to take advantage of all that music offers.
