Poly Loses State Playoff Opener

The Polytechnic varsity girls’ volleyball team officially ended its season after losing at Santa Fe Christian High in Solana Beach, 25-20, 27-25, 28-26, in the first round of the CIF-SS State Division II playoffs last Tuesday.
Poly’s Emily Wen amassed 41 assists, 11 digs, seven kills and four aces, Cameilia Ding finished with 10 kills and five digs, and Ellie Chu tallied 32 assists, six aces and three digs. Olivia Ip recorded eight kills, two assists and one dig, Cyanne Jones produced six kills, four digs and two blocks, and Bekah Hong collected 20 assists and 15 digs.
Caroline Holdsworth registered eight digs and five assists, while Tilde Keatley had two kills, one block and one assist. Irina Alsoufiev had two assists, two digs and one ace, while Bella Duncan posted two blocks and one kill.
Poly, which concluded the campaign as Prep League runners-up with a 10-2 record (15-3 overall), will look to return to the postseason next year.
