Violinist Makes American Concert Debut With L.A. Chamber Orchestra

First published in the April 21 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

After taking Europe and the classical music world by storm with his thrilling virtuosity, depth of expression and adventurous programming, Franco-Serbian violin sensation Nemanja Radulović is making his orchestral debut in the U.S. performing on stage with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
Led by music director Jaime Martín, Radulović will perform Tchaikovsky’s incomparable Violin Concerto in back-to-back concerts. His first performance will be at Glendale’s Alex Theatre on Saturday, April 23, at 8 p.m. The following performance on Sunday, April 24, at 7 p.m. will take place at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
Radulović has made a name for himself as an artist seeking to broaden the boundaries of classical music by championing the power of music to bring people together with his unique energy and candor. World-renowned publications have hailed the violinist for his commanding technique and beguiling tone.
No stranger to the recording studio or concert stage, Radulović has amassed a legion of loyal fans worldwide who have enjoyed his performances with many of the world’s leading orchestras, among them the Belgian National Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Tokyo Symphony. Beyond the concert hall walls, Radulović has an equal passion for the intimacy of chamber music and is an increasingly active recitalist on the international circuit.
In addition to the thrilling introduction of Radulović to the U.S. stage, Martín will also be conducting the overture to Joplin’s only opera, “Treemonisha,” as well as bringing the story of Mother Goose to life with the complete orchestral suite of Ravel’s “Ma mère l’Oye.”
Having spent many years as a highly regarded flautist and a fellow of the Royal College of Music in London, Martín has worked with the most inspiring conductors of our time. Martín turned to conducting full-time in 2013 and has become very quickly sought after at the highest level. Recent and future engagements include return visits to the London Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain, Sydney Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, RTVE National Symphony, Antwerp Symphony, Colorado Symphony and Gulbenkian orchestras, as well as a nine-city European tour with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He also made his debut with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestras last year.
Tickets for this singular orchestral experience start at $29 and may be purchased online at, or by calling LACO at (213) 622-7001, ext. 1. Discounted prices are also available by phone for students and seniors 65 years of age and older.
