The Altadena Library Foundation recently held its fifth annual Taste of ’Dena event to raise funds to support Altadena libraries.
More than 150 guests mingled under the stars and the beautiful Deodar trees outside the main library to listen to live music, sample food and beverages from local vendors and bid on items in the silent auction.
State Sen. Anthony Portantino and Assemblyman Chris Holden made remarks and praised the library’s many services within the Altadena community. Holden also presented Director Nikki Winslow with a check for $250,000.
This year’s event raised more than $30,000 to fund some of the library’s programs, including its Curiosity Connection mobile library unit.
