Linden Optometry Supports World Sight Day Challenge

First published in the Oct. 7 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The doctors and staff at Linden Optometry P.C. are raising funds to help those in underserved areas obtain much-needed vision care.
Many children in rural Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal and Tanzania have never had an eye exam, simply because there are no eye clinics near their villages. As a result, they have problems keeping up in school.

This year’s World Sight Day theme is “Love Your Eyes.”
There is no better way to show love for others around the world than to help to ensure they can see — a brighter future for themselves and their families.
When you give to the World Sight Day Challenge, you’re giving more than vision to someone in need:
You’re giving children the opportunity to learn and grow alongside their peers, because a child who cannot see the board at school will fall behind in life.
You’re giving a parent the capability to support their family, because eyeglasses enable them to work and earn a paycheck.
You’re giving an elder dignity and self-reliance, simply because they can see again.
You’re giving entire generations of people the ability to reach their full potential.
You’re giving whole communities improved quality of life.
“Over a billion people suffer from impaired vision, simply because they do not have access to eye care. World Sight Day on Oct. 14 is our opportunity to help,” said Alan Limfat, president of Linden Optometry, P.C. “Donate your spare change in one of the coin boxes inside our building (we will match 100%), or give online at:”
