Family, friends, tournament members and supporters turned out at the Pasadena Playhouse for last week’s announcement and coronation of the 101st Rose Queen — Louise Siskel — and presentation of the 2019 Royal Court. The event was presented by Citizens Business Bank and was hosted by Chris Schauble, co-anchor of KTLA channel 5 morning news. The evening was the culmination of a monthlong selection process. The queen and court were selected on the basis of qualities including public speaking ability, academic achievement, youth leadership and community and school involvement.
