Alverno Heights Academy recently celebrated its 55th Commencement Exercises for the class of 2018. A total of 43 young women were presented their diplomas and various awards from Alverno, community organizations, as well as the colleges they will be attending. The valedictorian was Melody Wu, who will be attending MIT, and the salutatorian was Alicia Mercado, who will be attending Mount St. Mary’s University. Alverno welcomed Santina Muha as the graduation speaker. Santina is an actress, comedian, public speaker and diversity in media consultant who currently appears on Netflix’s “One Day at a Time.”
