Alverno Heights Academy recently celebrated its 54th Commencement Exercises for the class of 2017. The graduation included speeches from Salutatorian Jillian Kislow, who will major in journalism at George Washington University, and Valedictorian Marisa Dragos, who will major in integrated marketing communications at Pepperdine University. The graduation speaker was Judge Kathleen Kennedy, who serves on the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Members of the class of 2017 were recognized for their academic, athletic, artistic and activity achievements over the last four years and celebrated the $1.5 million they received in scholarships and grants for their first year of college and the $5 million awarded over four years. As in the past, 100% of Alverno’s graduates will be attending a college or university in the fall with schools represented from coast to coast and internationally. See class photo, page 32.
