Polytechnic School’s Panther Club recently hosted its annual all-day celebration in support of Poly athletics. “Friday Night Lights” included a morning cardio clinic and tennis tournament, an afternoon helicopter ball drop, golf tournament, and 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and a Cinco de Mayo-themed all-school parent party in the evening at the home of Elise and Rick Wetzel, featuring silent and live auctions. It was a day of fun, fellowship, friendly competition — and Poly spirit.
Proceeds support school athletic and spirit program enhancements and facilities upgrades for student-athletes of all grade levels.
The day’s activities were coordinated by President Pat Amsbry; Friday Night Lights chair Leslie Clayton; party planners Denise Mathews and Kim D’Amico; auction chairs Maricruz Prado Woodruff, Jacklene Murran and Meghan Stimmler; 3-on-3 Basketball chair Eileen Williamson; tennis chairs Lori McPherson and Joanna Gardner; Helicopter Ball Drop chairs Michelle and Mark Shafia; and golf chairs Doug Carter, Raphael Henderson and chairs emeritus Vicky Mulligan and Hilary Hanel.
