Stars Gathers Constellation of Supporters

Supporters of the Pasadena nonprofit Stars, which has reached more than 1,000 area youth since 2001 with tutoring, mentoring, counseling and enrichment programs, enthusiastically took part in the recent Stars for Tomorrow benefit at the residence of Steve and Cristina Streit. About 250 attended the event, which featured a social hour reception, dinner from Hope Catering and vintages from Asuncion Ridge Winery, and silent and live auctions. Stars, formerly known as the Lake Avenue Community Foundation, serves low-income students who have few resources, thus helping curb public school dropout rates and guiding young people to complete post-secondary education.
