Conductor Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena Pops recently welcomed music lovers to the Los Angeles County Arboretum, where the orchestra opened its summer concert series by delving into the Great American Songbook. The concert drew upon 200 years of American popular music, from Stephen Foster’s “Beautiful Dreamer” to the songbook of the 1920s and ’30s, the big band era, Broadway favorites and more. Actor and singer Kevin McKidd and Tony Award nominee Melissa Errico lent their voices to the cause.
