PASADENA UNIFIED STRATEGIC PLAN IN FINAL STAGES

Community Invited to Complete a Survey by May 26 

Pasadena, CA — The Pasadena Unified School District is in the final stages of developing its new five year Strategic Plan: Imagine PUSD 2028 and invites students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and community members, to complete an important survey before May 26, 2023. 

The Strategic Plan will guide the District’s direction, priorities, and decision-making for the next five years. Development of the plan began last August and has been a multifaceted development process designed to reflect the rich diversity of PUSD school communities.  

“Once completed, the plan will define why we do what we do, where we want to go, and how we believe we will get there,” said Deputy Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco, Ed.D., who spearheaded the initiative. “Your opinions matter to us. We can design the district of our dreams if we work together to take ownership in this vital plan for the future.”  

The District formed five Strategic Plan “Design Teams,” composed of PUSD students, teachers, administrators, families, and members of the public. Guided by a steering committee, design teams were each tasked with a unique focus: the Education Master Plan, the Facilities Master Plan, enrollment, engagement, and culture and climate.  The Board of Education discussed the Plan at several public meetings and study sessions to develop strategic pillars and focus areas designed to strengthen the future of PUSD over the next five years. Now, PUSD is asking for input on the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan before finalizing it. 

To participate, members of the public are invited to visit www.pusd.us/strategicplan and

1. Review the Strategic Plan document and/or watch a recording of the Board of Education’s Town Hall held May 11; and 
2. Take a short survey. The survey will remain live until Friday, May 26 at 5 p.m. PDT.
