Festival of Women Authors Scheduled for May 21

The annual Pasadena Festival of Women Authors will resume in-person on Saturday, May 21, at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St.
The planned move of this historically sold-out event to a larger venue has been delayed for two years due to the pandemic.
The 2022 festival will feature Maggie Shipstead, author of the “Great Circle,” which was shortlisted for the 2021 Booker Prize, along with six other acclaimed writers: Gabriela Garcia, Nadia Hashimi, Alka Josi, Sarah Manguso, Claire Vaye Watkins and Monica West.
The authors will share their personal life stories and the journey that brought them to their works. They will mingle with the attendees, sign books and answer questions.
The Pasadena Festival of Women Authors raises money for literary programs. From its inception in 2009, it has awarded grants to more than $400,000 to community nonprofits.
Reserved seating patron tickets, patron tables of 10, which are $1,500, and individual $100 open-seating tickets are on sale on the festival website, pasadenaliteraryalliance.org.
