Armory Center for the Arts officially welcomed its new Executive Director Leslie Ito during a lively reception at the art center last Sunday. The welcome reception, attended by more than 300 guests, culminated with opening remarks by board President Linda Burrow, followed by an address from Ito, who underscored the values of art and community-building.
“In the last three years, I have done a lot of thinking about founding spirits. The founding spirit, which we continue on a daily basis here at the Armory, is based on the values of nurturing artists and the power of the arts to catalyze change within individuals and communities.”
Ito concluded with an invitation to “please join me on this journey and share in the feeling that being part of the Armory family means — that together we believe in the power of art and the incredible work of artists to empower communities and make positive change.”
