Maranatha High School Celebrates Class of 2024
Retiring Head of School John Rouse led the Invocation and welcomed families to Maranatha High School’s Class of 2024 commencement ceremony May 25 on the Pasadena campus.
Alex Carrillo and Danielle Babikian gave the Pledge of Allegiance before the school’s Mixed Ensemble performed the national anthem and a scripture reading by Lucy Ning.
Board of trustees Chairman Cory Ishida made some introductory remarks followed by addresses from salutatorian Matthew Moon, valedictorian Skylar Li and keynote speaker Scott Summers.
Rouse and Principal Daniel Newkirk recognized many students with awards and presented diplomas to 133 students.

La Salle College Preparatory Hosts 65th Commencement
La Salle College Preparatory held its 65th annual commencement for graduating seniors at Pasadena Civic Auditorium on May 24.
The invocation speech was given by student Alyssa Antig and the commencement address was delivered by Arthur Camara. The presentation of diplomas was by La Salle President Perry Martin, Principal Ernest Siy and board chair Stephanie Paggi. Eddie Magluyan served as the event’s emcee.
Ramona Convent Holds 133rd Annual Commencement
Ramona Convent recently held a ceremony to honor its graduating seniors. During the ceremony, Ramona’s salutatorian, Sidney Nicole Barrientos, reflected on the challenges they faced as they entered high school during a lockdown. She emphasized the importance of embracing change, trying new things, and being brave in order to achieve great things in life.
Following the heartfelt speeches, each graduate received their diploma. Additionally, the ceremony recognized the outstanding achievements of the students through an impressive list of honors and awards.
EF Academy Graduates Inaugural Senior Class
A diverse mix of 53 seniors from Pasadena and the broader L.A. area, and international students from 21 countries crossed the stage on May 18 to receive their diplomas.
Working closely with EF Academy’s university guidance counselors since their first year of enrollment, the seniors have enrolled in colleges such as USC, Occidental, Purdue, NYU, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, Denison, The American University of Rome, ArtEZ University of the Arts and the University of Palermo to name a few.
