Gooden School families, friends and alumni celebrated its 43rd annual service of “Lessons and Carols.” As a traditional celebration of Advent, this special Christmas season event took place at St. Rita Catholic Church in Sierra Madre. The celebration weaves together scripture and song, calls upon readers of various ages from school and the community, and carries the audience from the prophecy to a birthday celebration. The original Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service has been held at Kings College, Cambridge, for 100 years this Christmas.
