Sequoyah School students, teachers, parents and friends gathered at Gryphon Plaza on the K-8 campus to explore ways Sequoyah families celebrate the holidays at its annual Winter Traditions Celebration. Families set up tables with food, crafts and treats representing Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Southern New Year and Chinese, Korean and Japanese New Year. The delicious food offerings included Greek cookies, pozole, jap chae, black-eyed peas, ice cream pie, candy canes, peppermint bark, red bean porridge and mochi. Everyone enjoyed celebrating Sequoyah’s diverse community and the many rich traditions to celebrate.
