Sequoyah School Celebrates 60th Anniversary

More than 400 students and families, alumni and community members attended Sequoyah School’s 60th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday. Founded in 1958 with a mixed-age group of eight students, Sequoyah has grown to a community of more than 350 students spanning kindergarten through high school on two neighboring campuses. At Saturday’s event, state Sen. Anthony Portantino and Cheynne Chong from the office of Pasadena Councilman Tyron Hampton honored Sequoyah with certificates of recognitions. The program also included live musical performances by student musicians, including a string quartet and two bands.
