Clairbourn Welcomes Families to Carnival

Fond family memories were formed at the “Willy Wonka Jr.”-themed carnival held recently at Clairbourn School. The weather was perfect for getting drenched in the dunk tank or sampling the super-soaker maze, running the inflatable obstacle course, or winning prizes in the games-of-skill booths that lined the field. Lots of girls and guys found their way to the Beauty Bar booth to spray fun colors in their hair, others enjoyed the Willy Wonka photo booth, and the smallest children took delight in the simple pleasure of rolling down the hill adjacent to the field with their friends. The annual carnival is a great way for new 2019-20 school-year families to make friends, and it is also the students’ reward for putting on the annual spring program musical earlier that morning. Event co-chairs Octave and Maggie Barreau and CFA board members coordinated a group of volunteer parents, alums, teachers and vendors who lent a hand to make the day a success. Special highlights included meals provided by Corner Bakery and Weiner Wagon, and former parent Margarita Ductoc provided Italian ice treats and donated 20% of her sales to Clairbourn. Professional entertainment was also provided by current and former Clairbourn students from Rooted Band who sang pop songs and played instruments.
