Mayfield Junior School was buzzing with excitement on Halloween as the community hosted its annual Harvest Festival on campus. The festival is a yearly fundraising event organized entirely by the school’s 8th-graders. Students coordinate all planning activities, solicit donations from restaurants, businesses and organizations, build booths and market the event. The result was a festive atmosphere complete with a costume parade, haunted house, opportunity drawing, food, games, a bounce house, a dunk-less dunk tank, music and more. Within Mayfield’s academic and faith program, students are challenged with active leadership and growth opportunities focused on bettering the world around them. All funds raised benefit Mayfield’s Reach Out, a school-wide service-learning and community outreach program that educates students on the importance of social responsibility and a lifelong commitment to contributing to the lives of others.
