Convalescent Aid Society Party Raises $90K

The Convalescent Aid Society’s sixth annual Gourmet Garden Party took place recently at the Women’s City Club at the historic Blinn House. More than 200 donors and community leaders from 50 organizations helped raise more than $90,000 as they enjoyed food donated by more than a dozen local restaurants and catering services. Guests strolled the grounds to classic jazz played by the Jazz Zone trio. The opportunity drawing included a catered table at the Pasadena Pops, an artisan wooden bowl, a week in a Hawaiian condominium, a night at the Langham Huntington Hotel and a wine tasting at Howie’s Wine Cellar with an additional gift of wine from the wine cellar of Yvonne Rich. The funds will help expand services to include residents in the San Fernando Valley. Convalescent Aid Society has served the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena for the past 96 years by providing loaned durable medical equipment to 30,000 area residents.
