Hillsides Holds Ribbon-Cutting for New Student Center

Hundreds of Hillsides’ supporters, including Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek, attended a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for Hillsides’ new 34,000-square-foot Margie & Robert E. Petersen Student Center on the charity’s main campus in Pasadena. The event was an opportunity for Hillsides to thank the hundreds of private donors and dozens of foundations that funded the project, and to show off the eagerly awaited addition. Barger spoke during the ceremony, remarking “these kids deserve the best, and the opportunity these new facilities will provide is an example of the best possible care they can receive.” Tornek also spoke, acknowledging that, “we are so fortunate to have such a generous community here in Pasadena. It was that generosity that made this new building possible.”
