Muse/ique concluded its 2019 summer series in rousing fashion recently with “Band/Together,” a night of performing arts on the lawn of the Huntington Library, before about 1,600 guests. The performance curated by Muse/ique Artistic Director Rachael Worby was inspired by great historical feats as well as the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The event featured American Ballet Theatre dancers, tenor Ashley Faatoalia and the piano duo Anderson & Roe. In recognition of the anniversary of the Apollo landing, Muse/ique welcomed MiMi Aung, project manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who introduced the “Jupiter” from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets.” “Band/Together” was presented by East West Bank and sponsored by KPCC-FM.
