Pasadena Police Activities League Hosts Golf Classic Oct. 7

The Pasadena Police Activities League will hold its PAL Golf Classic on Friday, Oct. 7, at Brookside Golf Club.
The goal of this charitable tournament is to raise funds for PAL so that it can continue to reach the youth of the community by providing programs and services that make a positive impact on their lives.
PAL, a national organization that came to Pasadena in 1997, partners the youth of the community with the men and women of the Pasadena Police Department in a fun, safe and nurturing environment, while providing academic and cultural enrichment.
PAL offers homework assistance, various sports and a wide variety of special activities such as robotics and arts classes that give students an opportunity to build character and form a positive relationship with our community’s law enforcement.
Currently, the PAL program serves an average of 180 children in grades 4-12. At PAL, they continuously strive to realize their mission — to encourage Pasadena Area Youth to be good citizens through a partnership with the Pasadena Police Department.
PAL has impacted more than 5,000 students to date. Currently, the PAL program is moving into a facility of its own where it can host evening and weekend activities for the students. There is a great need to build out the new facility and furnish it to run this important program.
The PAL Golf Classic will include breakfast, 18 holes of golf, a helicopter ball drop, a Hole in One car from Pasadena Toyota, several on-course activities, including Chick-fil-A, Noor Whiskey & Cigars, and Santos Tacos and an awards reception. There are prizes for first, second and third places. Shotgun start is at 8 a.m. with breakfast and registration opening at 7 a.m.
