Nobel Laureate Slated to Speak at the Ambassador

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest-ever Nobel recipient and activist for children’s education and equality, will come to the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena on Wednesday, May 18, as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series.
“Malala Yousafzai’s continued advocacy is an inspiration to those who fight for children throughout the globe,” said Kathy Winterhalder, founder of the Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California.
Inspired by her father’s activism, Yousafzai began her campaign for girls’ education at age 11 with her anonymous blog for the BBC, “Diary of a Pakistani Schoolgirl,” about life under the Taliban.
Even with all of her accomplishments, Yousafzai said she doesn’t consider herself extraordinary. She is “simply Malala,” as she describes herself.
Yousafzai’s program will begin at 8 p.m., and her evening will conclude with a half-hour question-and-answer session.
Tickets are available until May 10 for $85 each and can be purchased at speakersla.com.
