College Access Plan to Host Fundraiser Oct. 1

First published in the Aug. 11 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

College Access Plan will host its fourth annual benefit, called CAmP, on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Hosted in the backyard of a La Cañada Flintridge private residence, CAmP “will feature tasty eats inspired by summer CAmP favorites from Chef Claud Beltran and Bacchus’ Kitchen, select wine and beer plus your favorite CAmP activities — all to benefit CAP’s incredible student-centered supportive services,” an event spokesperson said. “This is an evening of fun and games for the 18-and-older-crowd.”
Since its founding in 2006, College Access Plan has worked to remove barriers to post-secondary education for low-income and first-generation students at Pasadena’s public schools. Each year, CAP helps 1,600 local students and their families work toward and succeed in college.
Event proceeds up to $100,000 will be matched by the Helen and Will Webster Foundation.
Contributions are tax-deductible. Attendees are encouraged to wear college gear from a favorite school.
CAP was named 41st Assembly District 2022 Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Chris Holden.
