Betty D. Reddick

Betty passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, among family and friends after a long and determined fight against cancer.

Betty was born September 5, 1931, in Los Angeles. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949 and from Mt. Saint Mary’s College in 1953. After touring Europe upon graduation, she married Malcolm Reddick of Sharon, Mass. Together they had five boys, Philip, William, Robert, Paul and Thomas and lived in San Marino, Calif.

Long involved with her sons’ school, sports and other activities, she decided to return to college and received a master’s in education from California State University, Los Angeles, in 1977.

She became a teacher with the San Gabriel Unified School District working at Wilson Elementary as a 5th grade teacher and then to Jefferson Middle School, where she taught math and also served as a vice-principal.

Mom had many hobbies including golf, sports and reading. Betty had many close friends and enjoyed travelling the world and spending time with family, including her dear grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Betty’s enthusiasm, optimism and cheerfulness will be missed by all of us. We love you mom. The family is having a memorial/Celebration of Life at Westminster Gardens, Packard Hall on Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. Please feel free to attend and share your memories.
