Polytechnic Athletes Garner League Accolades

Polytechnic athletes were among the honorees when the Prep League recently released its all-league teams for baseball, softball, boys’ volleyball, track and field, swim and dive, and boys’ golf following the completion of the 2023 spring season.

BASEBALL
Senior Adam Arther and junior Henry McDonald were all-league first-team selections while juniors Sean Asperger and Elliott Rowley each earned second-team honors. Individual season statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.

SOFTBALL
Freshman Ellery Engstrom received first-team honors while sophomore Piper Hart and freshman Eila Chan were each second-team selections. Chan collected team-high marks in batting average (.531), on-base percentage (.673), slugging percentage (.937), OPS (1.610), RBIs (21) and triples (four). Engstrom had a .316 batting average and .869 OPS with a team-best 18 runs and seven RBIs while Hart posted a .380 average and a .932 OPS with 17 runs.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Junior Pierre Vincent was named MVP, senior Bardia Vincent and junior Scout Hollingsworth each earned firstteam selections, and junior Jared Gray and freshman Jack Gomez received second- team honors. Individual season statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.

SWIM & DIVE
Julia Pisano was the league’s co-MVP after winning the girls’ 50 and 100 freestyle. The relay team of Brandon Shin, Patrick Seo, Justin Lee and Peter Ryan won the boys’ 200 medley, the relay team of Michael Munder, Oliver Mann, Nathan Tu and Seo won the boys’ 200 free, and the relay team of Munder, Mann, Shin and Tu won the boys’ 400 free. Tu won the boys’ 200 free, Lee was the boys’ 100 butterfly champion and Seo won the boys’ 100 breaststroke champion.

TRACK & FIELD, BOYS’ GOLF
Senior Jonah Goldstein won the boys’ pole vault while freshman Catherine McFarlane was the girls’ 400 champion. Meanwhile, sophomore Jerry Fu earned first-team honors in boys’ golf.
