Jake’s Trustworthy Burgers & Beer Hosts Grand Reopening

First published in the Sept. 23 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

Jake’s Trustworthy Burgers & Beer recently celebrated its grand reopening in Old Pasadena on National Cheeseburger Day. To commemorate the return of this historic Pasadena establishment, Mayor Victor Gordo presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Vice Mayor Andy Wilson.
Jake’s, the oldest burger stand in Pasadena, celebrated by giving away almost 1,000 orders of hand-cut French fries and was overwhelmed by the show of support from the local community and beyond.
Groups came from as far as San Diego and the Inland Empire, Santa Ana and Moorpark to attend the festivities. Throughout the day, patrons recounted stories of frequenting Jake’s when they were kids, eating cheeseburgers after school and going on first dates — several of which resulted in marriage and children.
