The Mothers of Alumni Council of La Salle College Preparatory recently hosted its annual Holiday Luncheon and Boutique at the Altadena Town & Country Club.
This year’s event was chaired by Lucy Evans with MAC President Lisa Urbina. The event featured a shopping boutique, dozens of raffle gifts and a delicious lunch, all in support of La Salle’s San Miguel Scholarship Fund.
The San Miguel Scholarship honors the first American Lasallian saint, Brother Miguel, by offering up to nine full-tuition scholarships to incoming students of academic promise whose family income level puts them at or below the federal poverty level.
This year’s guest speaker, Darryl Oliver, class of 2011 and a San Miguel scholar, explained how his scholarship was life-changing and how it opened the doors of educational, artistic and athletic opportunity for him. Darryl is a graduate of Oregon State University.
