Susana Oliu is already an award-winning science teacher at John Muir High School, and she recently received another honor — being named an official educator ambassador with the national nonprofit, I Am A Scientist.
The organization believes that “every student deserves a chance to see themselves in science,” according to its website.
Oliu said she “could not be happier” having this opportunity to promote diversity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and to be working with educators across the nation on resources that will be translated in multiple languages eventually for global outreach.
