The Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ soccer team tied host Palos Verdes Chadwick, 1-1, in a Prep League matchup last Friday.
Senior Chayse Ying scored Prep’s goal while senior Sage Shurman was credited with an assist.
The Wolves posted their sixth straight victory after routing host Providence High in Burbank, 9-0, in a league game last Tuesday as Shurman registered a hat trick with one assist. Ying recorded one goal and two assists while senior Miranda Thomson and sophomore Valentina Mancilla each finished with one goal and one assist. Senior Ana Bozzi-Mackay, junior Stella Smit and freshman Juliet Oberley each scored once, senior Nadya Lamarr was credited with a pair of assists, and freshman Valentina Ronga had one assist.
Flintridge Prep recently edged visiting Mayfield Senior, 2-1, in a league game. It was a crucial matchup between two of the league’s top teams as the Wolves claimed sole possession of first in the standings. Senior Presley Nevadomsky and Ying each scored one goal while Thomson was credited with a pair of assists.
Flintridge Prep previously shut out rival Polytechnic in a league game, 9-0. Shurman racked up two goals and two assists, Nevadomsky registered a pair of goals, and senior goalie Ana Bozzi-Mackay posted her fifth shutout of the season. Freshman Scarlett Coombes and Ying each had one goal and one assist, while sophomore Dagny Marion, Mancilla and Ronga each scored once. Thomson finished with two assists while junior Zaria Echemendia recorded one assist.
The first-place Wolves (11-2-4 overall, 4-0-2 in league) will visit third-place Polytechnic for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. Flintridge Prep will visit Mayfield Senior on Monday, Jan. 30, for a crucial league rematch before hosting Providence for their regular-season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

MAYFIELD SENIOR

Mayfield Senior Kaitlyn Gomez, a senior, produced a hat trick to help the Cubs defeat Providence High in a Prep League game last week.

The Cubs pummeled visiting Providence High of Burbank, 13-0, in a Prep League game last Friday as senior Kaitlyn Gomez and Ella Gallo each posted a hat trick.
Senior Cami Pidoux recorded a pair of goals while junior Mia Cunningham, sophomore Tessa Neal, freshman Keegan Roggero, freshman Valentina Bicos and freshman Mimi Vanis each scored once.
Mayfield reentered the win column after defeating host Polytechnic, 3-1, in a league game last Tuesday. Gomez produced two goals and an assist, Neal finished with one goal and one assist, and senior Sade Falese had one assist.
The Cubs recently lost a league matchup at first-place Flintridge Prep, 2-1, falling to second in the standings. Cunningham scored the lone goal while Gallo was credited with an assist.
Mayfield previously blanked visiting Westridge School in a league game, 8-0, as Cunningham and Gomez each posted a hat trick with an assist. Neal registered one goal and two assists, Falese scored once and Gallo was credited with three assists. Meanwhile, freshman Lauren Hoshek had one assist.
The Cubs (14-3-1 overall, 5-1 in league) will host fifth-place Westridge School in a league match on Friday, Jan. 27, at 3:30 p.m. Mayfield will host Flintridge Prep on Monday, Jan. 30, in a crucial rematch before hosting Polytechnic in their regular-season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

POLY

Polytechnic freshman Carolyn Wang had one assist to help the Panthers recently defeat Palos Verdes Chadwick in a Prep League game.

The Panthers finished their Prep League game against visiting Westridge School in a scoreless tie last Thursday as senior goalie Vivian Heller made six saves.
Poly lost a league matchup against visiting Mayfield Senior, 3-1, last Tuesday. Senior Amy Sessions scored the lone goal on freshman Maggie McDonald’s assist while Heller was busy in the cage with 19 saves.
The Panthers recently edged visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick, 2-1, in a league game. Junior Bianca Howitt and freshman Mariana Gomez each scored once, freshman Carolyn Wang was credited with an assist, and Heller made six saves.
Poly previously lost a league game at powerhouse Flintridge Prep, 9-0.
The third-place Panthers (4-5-3 overall, 2-2-2 in league) will host Flintridge Prep for a league rematch on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 3:30 p.m. Poly will visit Palos Verdes Chadwick for a league game on Monday, Jan. 30, before visiting Mayfield Senior for their regular-season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

WESTRIDGE

Westridge freshman Esperanza Orozco-Carey and the Tigers will visit Mayfield Senior for a league matchup on Friday, Jan. 27, at 3:30 p.m.

The Tigers finished their Prep League game at Polytechnic in a scoreless tie last Thursday.
Westridge recently blanked host Providence High in Burbank, 5-0, in a league matchup. Junior Ande Steskal and sophomore Ximena Alvarado each recorded a pair of goals while senior Sunday Labrucherie scored once.
The Tigers previously suffered a pair of league games on the road after being shutout at Palos Verdes Chadwick, 3-0, and Mayfield Senior, 8-0.
Fifth-place Westridge (3-6-2 overall, 1-3-2 in league) will visit Mayfield Senior for a league rematch on Friday, Jan. 27, at 3:30 p.m. The Tigers will host Providence High for a league game on Monday, Jan. 30, before hosting Palos Verdes Chadwick for their regular-season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy senior captain Annamaria Vazquez registered a pair of goals during a recent Mission League game against Marymount High.

The Tologs were shut out at Marymount High in Los Angeles, 4-0, in a Mission League matchup last Friday.
FSHA narrowly lost a league game at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth, 3-2, last Wednesday. Junior captain Sachi Kaneko-Grun recorded one goal and one assist while senior Erika Caballero scored once.
The Tologs recently lost to visiting Harvard-Westlake of Studio City in a league game, 5-0.
Flintridge Sacred Heart recently tied visiting Chaminade High of West Hills, 1-1, in a league matchup on Wednesday as Kaneko-Grun scored once.
The Tologs previously tied visiting Marymount High of Los Angeles in a league game, 2-2. Senior captain Annamaria Vazquez registered a pair of goals while Kaneko-Grun was credited with a pair of assists.
Sixth-place FSHA (6-5-2 overall, 0-4-2 in league) will visit third-place Chaminade for a league match on Friday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m. The Tologs will visit powerhouse Harvard-Westlake on Monday, Jan. 30, before hosting Sierra Canyon in their regular-season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

MARANATHA

Maranatha High School junior Emmie Hewlett scored once to help the Minutemen defeat Heritage Christian High in an Olympic League game last week.

The Minutemen blanked visiting Heritage Christian High of Northridge, 2-0, in an Olympic League game last Tuesday as juniors Emmie Hewlett and Ella Klop each scored one goal.
Maranatha previously suffered a pair of league losses at Valley Christian High in Cerritos, 7-0, and at Whittier Christian High in La Habra, 4-0.
The third-place Minutemen (2-4-1 overall, 1-3-1 in league) will visit Heritage Christian for a league rematch on Friday, Jan. 27, at 2:30 p.m.

LA SALLE

La Salle College Preparatory’s Olivia Ferrari and the Lancers will visit St. Joseph today at 3 p.m.

The Lancers snapped their five-game losing streak after edging visiting Paraclete High of Lancaster, 3-2, in a Del Rey League game last Friday.
La Salle previously lost a trio of league matchups against Bishop Montgomery High of Torrance, 3-0; Saint Joseph High of Lakewood, 3-1; and Bishop Amat High in La Puente, 2-1. Individual statistics were not reported to the Pasadena Outlook.
The Lancers, tied for fourth with Paraclete in the standings, will visit St. Joseph High in Lakewood today at 3 p.m. La Salle (5-6-4 overall, 1-4 in league) will host Bishop Amat High of La Puente for a league match on Tuesday, Jan. 31, before visiting Bishop Montgomery High in Torrance for their regular-season finale on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m.
