In support of the Boy Scouts of America, guests recently attended the Greater Los Angeles Area Council’s Good Character Gala at the California Club in downtown L.A.
The event also honored Good Character Award recipient Jim Ellis, who is a San Marino resident and the former dean of the USC Marshall School of Business.
“This award proudly celebrates Jim and his commitment to helping others, through his professional service and volunteerism — always serving as a role model to others,” according to a BSA statement. “Jim has continuously instilled wisdom, ethics, and all-around good character in everything he does, making him the perfect recipient of the Good Character Award.”
The more than $1 million from the fundraising portion of the gala will benefit Scout Reach, which seeks to give all young people the opportunity to participate in scouting and learn vital tools to be equipped for life.
